In the 2015 edition of the XVIIth Congress of the Portuguese Association of Operational Research, it will be given continuity to the EstudIO initiative keeping its integration in the Congress period with the regular format of parallel session.

What are the conditions to make a presentation in the EstudIO?

Be, by the date of the congress, a 1st or 2nd cycle student at a higher education institution, submit an extended abstract and be selected.

What are the advantages to submit an article to the EstudIO?

The students selected to make their presentations in the EstudIO will have access to the activities of the congress through the registration as students. In this registration an annual fee is included as a member of APDIO offered by the Director of APDIO and the book of abstracts offered by the Organizing Committee.

The selected students will have a special focus in the Congress book of abstracts. All the participants in the conference will be invited to vote for the best work submitted to the EstudIO. In the Congress closing session will be announced the winner's name, which will receive a diploma.

What is the application process and selection?

1st phase

Until April 15 it is necessary to send to mirg@fct.unl.pt an extended abstract, one page maximum in Word format with the template provided by Springer (format-Springer). The abstract should be structured as follows:

(1) description of the problem;

(2) relevance of the problem;

(3) the methodology used in the resolution.

Until april 30 applicants will be informed of the acceptance or rejection of their application to EstudIO.

2nd phase

Candidates whose works have been accepted in the 1st phase should submit up to may 31:

- An updated version of the previous summary, with the same structure, which should add a section (4) results;;

- A slide type "elevator pitch" with the structure of the extended abstract (examples available soon).

Applicants should make registration in Congress as "student" here until the closing date of enrollment related to the inclusion in the abstract book (date to be announced).
